Thanksgiving Number Line Adding & Subtracting With Tom Turkey
This fun Thanksgiving Themed SmartBoard lesson teaches the following Common Core Standard for 1st Grade: Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 20 using the strategy of a number line to find the answer to a problem.
Directions
Teacher will call out a math problem.
Student will write the math problem in the rectangle.
Student will circle the greater number and place the turkey above the number on the number line.
Student will then move the turkey on the number line according to the math sign and the lesser number.
The student will write the answer to the math problem.
Finally the student will touch the clear page icon in the tool bar.
If you have an Interactive Whiteboard, but it is not a SMARTBoard, you can still use this lesson by downloading SMART Notebook Express at:
