Your students will love this fun and worthwhile activity!
This vocabulary game is played similarly to Wheel of Fortune and the old Hangman game--without the violent undertones!
This can be a whole-class or small group activity. A teacher or parent coaches the student through the activity with spelling, meaning, and grammar clues. Students are 100% engaged in the activity by writing on sheets that mirror those in the presentation.
The eight individual puzzles can be viewed and played on a computer screen or projected onto a screen using an LCD projector. Modifications can also be made for overhead projectors.
The game is played by opening the images with MS Paint, which is included on most Windows computers. The game can also be used with Macs, using the drawing program contained in Appleworks.
Detailed, simple instructions for using Paint are included. Even Paint novices will find it easy to do.
Great spelling, grammar, and vocabulary tips are included in a separate sheet.

This is very nice and a great way for students to learn new words. Love the integration with IT. It does take some preparation but worth the effort to make it fun for the students.

I have taught kindergarten, pre-first, first, and second grades. I've also taught special education students, grades K-6. Additionally, I have worked with students and educators to facilitate the use of technology. As a district trainer, I have conducted workshops for math concepts, reading (4 Blocks model, Harcourt) and writing (Step Up to Writing, Six Traits.
