This is a comprehensive workbook for the students to use in lieu of or in addition to their notebooks during the reading of Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye. It includes Aims (objectives), Do-Now Questions (motivations), critical and plot questions (development) as well as character analysis. There are also sections for students to work together as groups and the text is an integral part of this workbook. There are reference pages so that students must complete "close readings" of the text. This unit is missing lesson seven and the teacher can tell which pages that lesson covers from the lessons before and after the missing lesson. Additionally, the teacher who purchases this unit may want to do some word processing to fix the aesthetics of some of the pages. Other than that, there is very little work to be done with the exception of read the novel and perhaps coming up with a few homework assignments and vocabulary words. Many hours of work went into this and you will use it for years and years. The workbook can also be used to gauge student progress and can be collected and graded during or at the end of the unit.
