This is a colorful 22-slide PowerPoint Show that explains the eight parts of speech with lots of animations and sounds to keep your students engaged and interested, in addition to helping them understand English grammar! The key to writing good sentences is to know how words are put together and how they function in a sentence. Describes nouns, verbs, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, prepositions, and interjections and how words can function as different parts of speech. Also available separately is The Eight Parts of Speech Quiz which can be used for assessment.

It's a cute presentation but lacking in several areas - not enough detail with verbs and prepositions, and I agree with Lmegidio that the nouns slide could have been enhanced with ideas and emotions - even the addition of abstract and concrete nouns. Not sure if I'll use this in the classroom because there are too many holes in it. Nice effort, though.

It's great! The kids & I love it! The only comment I would make to improve it would be to change the nouns slide to include idea as well since nouns are classified as person, place, thing, or idea.

PERFECT! Great overview, but very thorough. Just the right amount of detail--not too brief, but doesn't go too deep for an intro/review. Excellent for middle school. Thank you.

Hello,
I purchased the 8 parts of speech PowerPoint, but I am experiencing difficulty. I can open it, but the opening slide appears with some sound, but the next slide just has "noun" at the top. Nothing else happens. I have tried to get to the next slide, and the same thing happens--the word "verb" appears. That is it. I cannot get past this point. I have tried on two different computers. I actually have to press control, alt, delete to get our of the presentation. Any ideas? Thanks for your time. Lorie

Hi - I just purchased your 8 parts of speech powerpoint-- loved it! The problem is that when I tried to open it at school, I couldn't access it! Instead, something popped up to intercept, a tour of the program it looks like you might have used to create the PPT. very frustrating! any ideas???

I checked it and I don't see any problems. I downloaded it at school and at home. Maybe your PowerPoint program is a different version? If so, it might pop up a window that will tell you that the slides can't be edited, but you should be able to access it if you let it load. I don't know what else it could be.

Hello,
I downloaded your Parts of Speech Powerpoint, but it is not the same one in your preview. I looked at the preview before buying the PPT and the slides had Sponge Bob and other TV characters on them. The PPT I bought does not have the same slides. Could you either refund my purchase or send me the parts of speech powerpoint with the tv characters?

I have a total of 20 years teaching experience. After I received my M.Ed. from the University of Florida, I began teaching in elementary school, where I taught pull-out remedial classes for grades 2-5 and a section of K-1. Then I taught Pre-K for 5 years, before I decided to go up to Middle School, where I have been in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I am currently teaching 7th grade. I am certified in Elementary Education as well as in Middle Grades in the areas of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I am certified as a Teacher Support Specialist.
