This group activity culminates in each student writing a paragraph proving one of several statements about the community in the novel. First, the groups look for evidence to prove the statement they have been assigned. Then, group members write individual paragraphs using the information that the group found. A model paragraph is provided to give students an example of how to use supporting details to develop an idea.
