I prepared this Unit Plan for my first-quarter "Instructional Methods" class in my teaching credential program in 2003. It includes 10 days of detailed lesson plans, handouts, and related readings (short story, poem, newspaper article).
This Unit Plan is free because it's INCOMPLETE. The assignment was to create detailed lesson plans only for the first 10 days of the Unit. Since I never actually taught this Unit, I never implemented plans for the entire novel.
This is a .doc file, which can be imported and edited using Microsoft Word (1997 or newer).
Very comprehensive and detailed. I like how you have students compare and contrast the facts and their opinions with a number of literature selections. Good use of all of the strands of Bloom's Taxonomy.
I liked the way you adapted the lessons for students who are Gifted, English Learners, or are in Special Education. Your “The Heroic Journey and Whirligig: A Unit Plan†was the featured “Free Product of the Day†on “The Best of Teachers Pay Teachers.â€

Just a couple of suggestions. Add a graphic and some color to your title page. That makes an eye catching thumbnail for advertising purposes. Yes, high school people like color as well. I often put items or text in color throughout my handouts while adding a graphic or two to break up all of the reading. Good luck as you sell on TPT.
