PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Thanks to my friend Margaret Whisnant, here's a lesson you can use to teach or review mood and how the author sets the tone in a novel. Margaret took these great pictures where the movie for "The Hunger Games" was shot. They created the perfect opportunity to discuss how both movie-makers and authors can influence the mood of a piece.

The free download includes teacher's directions, guided discussion questions & optional handout, and the embedded images, which can be projected or printed. I also included my blogpost article, which includes additional discussion.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tracee This is outstanding! Using photos of the actual setting is such an effective way to motivate kids to use their imaginations. As I viewed the "ghost town" photos it immediately evoked a sense of long ago and sadness. I wondered about the mill people who had lived there, what their lives were like and who had selected it for the Hunger Games movie. It's wonderful that you and Margaret collaborated to create this product. Thank you for sharing it!
