The Lost and Found ~ Mark Teague ~ Language Arts Workbook~3rd Grade

This is an 18 page workbook to accompany the story "The Lost and Found" by Mark Teague. Skills covered include: author's purpose, context clues, compound words, punctuation and quotation marks, syllables, multiple meaning words, fact/opinion, parts of speech, synonyms/antonyms, singular and plural nouns, homophones, verb tense, vocabulary, proper nouns, making connections, subject/predicate, reference materials, sequencing, alphabetical order, spelling, prefixes and suffixes, identifying narrator, sentence types, genre, guide words, grammar, best word order, contractions, alternate endings, possessives, drawing conclusions, true/false, reality vs. fantasy, sentence combining, analogies, complete and incomplete sentences, pronouns, setting, characters, problem and solution, and cause and effect. This has been an invaluable tool in covering state standards and helping my school's 3rd grade students with comprehension and numerous language arts skills. The page numbers referenced in this workbook correspond to the story in the Houghton Mifflin® Anthology "Rewards" from their California Reading program. If you are using another version of "The Lost and Found", this will still be useful to you, but you may have to modify a few things.
