A tool for encouraging concentration & calm in the Classroom!
Can be used as a transition, before test taking or at nap/rest time.
Guided imagery is a technique where targeted thoughts & suggestions guide your imagination towards better focus & deeper relaxation. This can be done through a script, an instructor or an audio CD .
When music is added, this tool can be more vivid, helping to create a calming effect or a
relaxation response in the body.
This script can be used for this purpose, for children or adults as an introduction to this important health concept & vital Life Skill!
This 8 minute imagery script can be used with classical or other relaxation music of your choice, to encourage children to guide themselves to relaxation while still allowing for a more structured approach if need be.
"The Peace Garden" encourages the child to find or create a quiet, safe place inside that no person or event can disturb.
To use this product:
1- have the students sit at their desks or lie down confortably, eyes closed & breathe slowly.
2-Instruct them to just listen to your words guide them & the music wash over them & take them on a peaceful adventure in their imagination!
3-when finished, open eyes/stretch slowly.
(*Younger children can also color or draw about their "Peace Garden" & Older children will enjoy journaling their experience & impressions.)
