This is a set of worksheets that asks students to consider the source of political power, and the circumstances and ways in which it should be used.
The sheets can be used as a way to examine students' pre-existing ideas about political power before studying about the Absolute Monarchs of Europe, as a review of political philosophies ranging from Machiavelli to Confucius, or as a comparison of democratic England, Germany under Bismarck, or czarist Russia. The key idea is to provide an opportunity for students to review, compare, and analyze political principles for themselves.
