Hi Hope! First of all, you have some amazing things to share. Second, I am extremely interested in your "Oh, the Places You'll Go" template/unit. It also includes a time capsule and other Dr. Seuss templates. I first saw it on Pinterest and when I tried the link to this site, it would not come up. Please let me know if it is still available and how I could get it. Thanks! Marisa

Unfortunately, that unit is currently unavailable, but I am working to have something similar to it posted again in the next few weeks. Sorry! :(

Hi Hope! This is so darling...looking forward to trying. Where do your students keep their tickets? My class has tables, not desks and they don't have individual cubbies (not enough)...so looking for suggestions for easy management of their tickets?! Again, this is very cute, thanks for sharing!
:) Marie

Could they use a small Ziploc bag, or a small pencil box?

Hi Ashely,

Do you have the most current version of Adobe? You may need to update your version before the file downloads!

Are you selling the reading strategy flowers that students can pull to show which strategy they used? I really like them. Thanks.

Thank you so much for posting this!! I think I am going to try it in my resource classroom. I am going to be a first year teacher in the fall! I have a question do you give certain tickets for certain behaviors??

Thanks a bunch! :)

Just make it your own! I give tickets for a variety of behaviors that I want to see repeated! :) Best of luck!

Hi Amy, It may be due to such high traffic on the TPT site due to the sale. You can go to your "My Purchases" board and contact TPT and they can correct the issue! Thanks! :)

I like this system, especially for an immediate reward that many kids need. How are you going to decide who gets what tickets or how many tickets they need to save to get a candy bar? Maybe it's just me but I'm a little confused on how you're working this system.

Ok, sure! Let me give you a little more detail. Basically, when I catch a student doing something that I feel deserves notice, (helping others, paying attention, monitoring/changing behaviors, individual improvement, etc.)I will reward the student with a ticket (just one each time). The students can save their tickets until they have the amount of tickets needed to "purchase" the desired treat. You can choose things that your students like to become part of your candy bar. My smaller objects (tootsie rolls, dum dums, small candies) are usually five tickets. My medium size candies (mini candy bars) are usually 10 tickets) and my large objects (I use the big colorful lollipops...my students just love them) are usually 20 tickets (because they are a "big" prize). Once a student has saved up the amount of tickets necessary for their reward, they can redeem their tickets and receive their treat. I hope this helps you out a bit. If not, please let me know and I will be more than happy to provide you with more information!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Grades Taught:
Subject Area:

During my short teaching career, I have never stayed in one place too long! :) I've been teaching for six years - 4 years in 1st grade,1 year in 2nd, and have now moved on to 3rd grade just this year. Looping has presented many challenges, but I have enjoyed all of the wonderful experiences that this model of teaching can offer. I adore my job and am always looking for ways to improve my instruction in the classroom. I have quickly learned that when you make learning magical, that is when it truly sticks for the "long haul". I enjoy creating resources that bring learning to life in my classroom, and I am so excited to be able to offer a little piece of that to you here on TPT. Happy Teaching! :)
