The Talking Cloth ~ Rhonda Mitchell ~ Language Arts Workbook

This is a 16 page workbook to accompany the story "The Talking Cloth" by Rhonda Mitchell. Skills covered include: author's purpose, context clues, compound words, punctuation and quotation marks, syllables, multiple meaning words, fact/opinion, parts of speech, synonyms/antonyms, true/false, singular and plural nouns, homophones, verb tense, vocabulary, pronouns, proper nouns, making connections, subject/predicate, reference materials, main idea of a page, possessives, alphabetical order, spelling, identifying narrator, sentence types, genre, guide words, drawing conclusions, best word order, analogies, theme, comparing and contrasting, contractions, generalizations and details, prefixes/suffixes, and cause and effect. This has been an invaluable tool in covering state standards and helping my school's 3rd grade students with comprehension and numerous language arts skills. The page numbers referenced in this workbook correspond to the story in the Houghton Mifflin® Anthology "Rewards" from their California Reading program. If you are using another version of "The Talking Cloth", this will still be useful to you, but you may have to modify a few things.
