This file is a 33 page download of my Journey on The Mayflower based on the book The Thanksgiving Story by Alice Dalgliesh. This file will walk you through creating both the Mayflower and Speedwell in your classroom. It includes the following to bring this historic journey to life for you students.

Writing Prompts: Yes, I will journey on the Mayflower and No, I am going back to England.
Each year I re enact the journey on the Mayflower with a spray water bottle, chains, sound bytes and the props in the file. My students love turning the lights off and feeling like they are one of the Pilgrims. They get the feeling of being in the tween decks and just how many people got sick on the journey. They find out the meaning of corn and how it was one of the main reasons the Pilgrims survived. They are introduced to the Native Americans and how they were the ones that helped the Pilgrims when they were in the most need.
I love bringing this to life for my students. Just reading the book now if not enough! Try this memorable activity with your class this year!

I purchased this unit last night and found a typo on both writing pages. Would you be able to edit the caption at the top of BOTH pages from I would NOT journey on "they" Mayflower to "the" Mayflower? Thank you!
