How can there be so many different versions of the same tale? Do you have a favorite version? Why is it your favorite?
This is a helper for all teachers of literature. It is a 6-page comparison and analysis done on two different versions of the classic folk tale, The Three Little Pigs. While the classic story line is kept in both versions, there are succinct touches of underlying themes in each one that makes it unique.
If you have different retellings of stories in your own classroom, why not not use this as a guide for your students to analyse any matching pair of story books as an assignment.

Love the comparisons of the two books, Nyla. This is a great project to do with kids. I share two different versions of Peter Pan with my students. I have one of the first editions of the book, that was given to my by my grandmother so it's very special. Now I look forward to trying the Three Little Pigs!!
