A great use of modern (school-acceptable) films to illustrate the basic archetypes prevalent throughout literature...especially relative to ninth grade and mythology in general.
There are seven questions relative to the film, The Truman Show, tied to basic archetypes. Specifically: the Golden Age, God-teacher, God-temptor and End of Childhood. You may find it appropriate to use this film to include the Metamorphosis and the Flood, as well.
I have also created a similar handout for the film, Armageddon, which includes more of the basic Greco-Roman archetypes. If you purchase this handout, I will send you the Armageddon one for free if you contact me through the teacherspayteachers site.
