Underground Railroad Simulation Game Board Activity
This game is intended to be a simulation of what it was like to experience the Underground Railroad as a slave and slave catcher. Before your students play the game, you will want to have a discussion about the Underground Railroad in regards to how slaves used stations to rest and how slave catchers worked tirelessly to try to capture the slaves.
The game will have your students become slaves or slave catchers and move around the game board. Slaves will try to become free, while the slave catchers will try to catch all of the slaves. All a teacher needs to do is follow the instructions on how to put together the colorful game board. For a better idea on how the game works, download the free preview of directions.
