I like for historical illustrations to look more like the real thing, not so cutsie...not even for young children. I was also expecting more landmarks and symbols, and people as part of the unit. It was a very superficial overview.
Using this next week! Our library had an excellent new set of American Symbols books on the first grade reading level, so I'm incorporating them into the packet. So excited!
This looks great! I love how the mini-books are made in different styles and levels. The clip art is adorable too. I especially love the Venn diagram and writing element. Thanks so much!
DeAnne, I love this unit! It has an easy reader and one that has lots of information to challenge my high readers. Thanks so much! OK , I just had to come back and say thank you for making the books so printer friendly. I was able to print it back to back to save paper without having to do any cut and paste.
