This worksheet is a reproducible for a student to use when analyzing either works of literature or their own writing. I made this worksheet to use with the “Seven Traits” writing program and asks students to identify features in writing such as sensory words, strong verbs, descriptive writing, similes/metaphors, etc…. I found this analysis to be particularly useful when student’s used this sheet to analyze their favorite novels and techniques those authors used to really capture the readers attention. When using with their own writing, it helped students to identify areas of strength and areas of weakness in their writing to guide improvements.
