Use 'The Writing Wizard' to help motivate the students in your Kinder-2 classroom to improve their writing and give their best everyday.
These resources work with a wizard's cloak that you can easily make from a piece of black fabric or buy from a dollar shop.
Tell your students that you will choose one person to be the 'writing wizard' after your writing lesson. This student will then have their name written on the class poster, get a certificate to take home and get to wear the cloak in the classroom for a period of time (your choice for how long).
You can choose to start your writing lesson with a focus for the day and record it on the 'The Writing Wizard can......" poster to help focus your students attention on a particular writing skill for the day.
This packet includes:
- 4 poster choices to record names of students (depicting various skin tones and hair colors of the wizard)
- 2 certificates (1 boy, 1 girl)
- 1 "The Writing Wizard Can" poster
We have included black and white version sof the posters and certificates, so you can choose to save on ink.

I actually have 'Writing Wizards' in my classroom! My 'Wizards' get to wear hats and use special writing wands (sparkly pencils) for the week. I love these certificates, they will be something special for the students to take home and 'show off'. Thanks!
