This is a 4 week unit on Chinua Achebe's "Things Fall Apart." The unit is broken up into 4 main focuses.
Focus 1: Pre-reading (learning about Igbo Culture)
Focus 2: Looking closely at the society we see in the first few chapters of the play. Students fill out a TFA Society Packet.
Focus 3 and 4: Students learn about responding to short answer questions by establishing a thesis statement. This portion of the unit lasts for 2 weeks, and is heavily geared towards group work.
This unit is spotty in quality. I purchased it primarily because the description mentioned a prereading activity connected to the Igbo. There were questions, but no reading included, or even a link (or ideas) to find an appropriate reading. Since this purchase didn't save me any time or effort, I consider this to be a complete ripoff.
