"Think- Pair - Share" is a great strategy for differentiating learning and keeping students on task, resulting in more effective student learning. This strategy is also a very effective classroom management tool --it keeps students involved and provides opportunities for teachers to check for understanding. Think-Pair-Share has many benefits to student learning--builds in wait-time; provides rehearsal for responses; enhances depth and breadth of thinking; increases level of participation; keeps students on-task; provides processing time called for in 10:2 Theory. It’s great to use with all ages, including adults! Look for my Think-Pair-Share record sheet to reinforce students about what to do--available on Teachers Pay Teachers.

My teaching experience includes 25 years as a K-12 teacher, curriculum administrator, and district federal/state programs administrator. As a teacher, I specialized in middle school language arts and mathematics. Since retiring from the K-12 system, I have been teaching curriculum and education courses at the bachelors' and masters' degree levels as well as supervising student teachers. I am also a successful grant writer, specializing in competitive state and federal grant projects. As a private contractor, I also work to help teachers who need assistance to improve their skills.
