This Power Point Slideshow provides third graders with a review of the most important skills to master in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCOS) for the Measurement goal. Topics reviewed include temperature, length, capacity, and mass in both the customary and metric systems. Strategies for solving story problems and application of these skills are also included in this tutorial. You can also print the show and it would serve as a great study guide for students. This slideshow is also a great way for new third grade teachers in North Carolina to familiarize themselves with the math curriculum.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently a Talent Development Teacher for my district. I work to accelerate and challenge gifted students in grades K-5. Through close relationships and careful planning and collaboration with their classroom teachers, I am able to effectively meet the needs of these high ability learners. Before taking on this unique role, I taught 3rd grade for four and a half years. Immediately after graduating college, I spent nearly two years working with special needs students.
