2013 UPDATE:
This common core aligned, reader’s theater is a super-cute simple script for “The Three Pigs”. Along with the script there are cards for each of the characters. These cards can be attached to the back of chair or worn around the neck to identify which character is “reading”. The character cards can also be used without the reader’s theater. After reading the reader’s theater or the story, invite the children to wear one of the character necklaces to retell the story by role playing. The applicable common core standards are listed in the packet.

Hey Kim! I have been teaching for 30 years. Way back when, we had overhead projectors and would project backgrounds so the students could act out the parts. The children loved it. Are these units intended to be read by the students? I read the description and believe my PreK children could use these to act out the stories. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks so much!! I had forgotten how much fun they had with this type activity.
