Student's practice adding up money (up to 4 coins at a time)with this fun game of tic-tac-toe.
Students work in pairs. First player takes chip/paper clips/counters etc (2-4 depending on how you want to play)and lays them on the coins of their choice. They then add up the coins. If the value of the coins chosen in on the board they win that space (color it in, cross it out, cover it up) and it is then player 2 moves ONE of the chips to another coin and finds the value. If that value is found on the board they win the space. Play until someone gets a tic-tac-toe (can play 3 in a row, 4 in a row, or 5 in a row-depending on time)

Going into my 5th year of teaching, but only my 2nd year in 3rd grade. Making the switch to 3rd grade has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love my job!
