What a fun and concrete way teach area and perimeter! Students are instructed that their principal is installing a new tile floor in their classroom, but need their help! Students work in groups and use color tiles to create their own design. A voting session concludes this lesson! This 9 page file includes pictures, directions, and student resources.
A+ Awesome-We all loved this. Great idea! Some of your stuff is great and some is disappointing, b ut this was the BEST out of the more than 30 items I've purchased from SOS. If someone doesn't have tiles, though, you could include colorful tile templates to use. Wouldn't be as good though. SUPERB!!!
Thank you so much! We hope your students enjoy it! :)

I'm sure this will be a hit with the students. It's hands on and visualization. We don't do enough fun activities when we have to use a canned math book. I think it will make this even better.
I really like the creative idea behind this lesson. I wish there were more activities for the students to work on to tie it back to area. I know that my students will love this activity next week!
