Step into a time machine! Created as an introduction to the time period when Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt grew up, this glimpse into 1900 would be great for anyone studying American History at the turn of the centry. This gives students real life connections that they don't always understand in our current world, such as a lack of technology and the difference in gender roles. It also touches on women's suffrage and civil rights. Let your students step into the time machine and experience 1900 in a way they are sure to remember. Tested with real students in the classroom of Heidi Raki.

After our move to Morocco in June of 2011, I will be teaching first grade at an American School in Casablanca, Morocco. Currently, I teach all grade levels in the computer lab at a Title I school in Georgia. Previously, I taught 3rd grade for 4 years. I student-taught in 3rd grade and Kindergartden. I teach in a low-income school where my students need to look at every problem from 12 different angles. Although it is challenging, it is also incredibly rewarding.
