This guide is wonderful. Besides the ordinary chapter quizzes and study questions, it includes lots of activities that correlate to state assessed skills... expository writing, rhetorial analysis, etc. Great packet!

I haven't used all the materials yet, but what I am doing as I re-read the book is to list vocab words. I had been excited that there was a vocab list already made because it takes so much time, but it is woefully inadequate. As of page 85, I already have 82 additional vocab words listed in addition to the ones in the packet (and at least 10 of the 40 in the packet so far are ones my kids would know).
Otherwise, there are many pages in this packet that I am glad to have and will be using in class.

Thank you for your purchase! As far as the vocabulary words are concerned, I am sorry you found it "woefully inadequate." I deliberately picked out a relatively minimal number in order for students to be able to learn them! Additionally, for the purposes of Assessment Preparation and vocabulary activities that are throughout the Literature Guide, I chose to focus on those words that students may come across in their future reading.
I agree that there are far more potential vocabulary words that could be introduced, however, I chose to focus on a palpable number of words for students to learn. I applaud you if you are able to teach your students the hundreds of potential vocabulary words throughout the novel, but for the purposes of this Guide, I didn't want to overwhelm or discourage students.

I am looking at purchasing two of your literature guides: one on To Kill a Mockingbird and one on Romeo and Juliet. I cannot get the preview of the Romeo and Juliet Literature Guide to come up (it says product does not exist). My question is: Are there pages in your guides that are the same? If so, how many pages repeat, especially between these two guides?

There is no overlap or repeat of material between the guides.

Secondary Solutions is the endeavor of a high school English teacher who could never seem to find appropriate materials to help her students master the necessary concepts at the secondary level. She grew tired of spending countless hours researching, creating, writing, and revising lesson plans, worksheets, quizzes, tests and extension activities to motivate and inspire her students, and at the same time, address those ominous content standards! Before the inception of Secondary Solutions, materials that were available were either juvenile in nature, skimpy in content, or were moderately engaging activities that did not come close to meeting the content standards on which her students were being tested. Frustrated and tired of trying to get by with inappropriate, inane lessons, she finally decided that if the right materials were going to be available to her and other teachers, she was going to have to make them herself! Mrs. Bowers set to work to create one of the most comprehensive and innovative Literature Guide sets on the market. Joined by a middle school teacher with 21 years of secondary school experience, Secondary Solutions began, and has matured into a specialized team of intermediate and secondary teachers who have developed for you a set of materials unsurpassed by all others.
