This is a great introduction to the themes of the novel (Prejudice, Intolerance, Justice, Courage)
Students visit a website and search a quotation database for quotations related to one of the themes. They must interpret the quotation's meaning, what circumstances surround the quote, why they chose it and why it has some truth behind it.
This assignment requires students to explore their own personal experiences and examine their own philosophy of life to draw comparisons between specific incidences and the broader themes.
The file includes detailed instructions and a marking scheme.
