Students in the primary grades often struggle with cvc words and this packet contains a wide variety of activities that are real favorites in my classroom. I have only used twenty-five words so that students can work with them and build capacity with them. There are a wide variety of literacy stations, games and activities that can be done during small group instruction. Included in this packet are a variety of books that can be created, where these words have been contextualized. It is Common Core aligned and reflects crucial foundation skills necessary for young children to learn to be successful readers. I even included headbands that your children can wear proudly, once they have mastered short vowel skills. These activities are ideal for intervention programs and special education. They are engaging and interactive.

This unit works perfect with the Super Readers on PBS kids and Alpha Pig. Thanks!
I have purchased many of your units, but this one is by far my favorite! I love these activities and I love the way that you put them together! I think that my kids will definitely benefit from using these in our small groups. Thank you for creating such great materials. Your materials and ideas keep me excited about teaching. Many thanks from Omaha, Nebraska!
Oh my goodness, thanks for such a lovely comment. I knew this made sense when I used it in my classroom and saw the kids grow in their understandings. I am really pleased that this will help you and thank you for spending money on my products.

Hello, first let me say I love your products. It is evident that you are familiar with a Kindergarten classroom and understand their needs. I purchased this pack recently and noticed a possible error in your instructions. In the tools for building words section, you call mention writing the "blend in the box" but there are no blends in this section only c-v-c words.
Thank you for all you are doing...I have become a follower of Tim Shanahan because of a mention in your blog. I follow you too of course!
