Transformational geometry can be a tricky concept to teach so I have made this packet hands-on and easy to follow! This is a huge,MUST-HAVE math packet for transformational geometry! This pack is especially helpful if you teach a split grade as I have included a variety of activities at various levels. Your students will love the Star Wars theme! This was a very time consuming unit to make so just think of the time you will save!!
This unit covers:
*right and left
*directions on a grid
*coordinates on a grid
*directions from one object to another
*translations, rotations, and reflections (slides, turns, and flips).
All you have to do is copy, laminate, and cut-out. You will have everything ready to go in no time! Everyone loves easy!

In this packet you will find:
*3 posters (translation, rotation, reflection)
*14 math activities (a variety of activity sheets and math centers)
*2 end of the unit assessments

Math Activities:
(1) Left and Right Through the Galaxy!
Student will practice left and right. There is a math center and follow-up worksheet.

The next 3 activities will give your students more practice with left and right.
Students read the directions on the sheet to colour the 3 pictures.
(2) Yoda is Going Right, Right?
(3) Go Left, Go Right With Princess Leia
(4) Following Directions With R2D2

(5) Outta This World With Grid Directions
This activities will allow students to learn giving simple directions on a grid.
Eg: Go right 4. Go up 6.
There is a math center and a follow-up worksheet.
(6) Storm Trooper Directions
Students will practice locating objects on a grid. There is a math center and a follow-up worksheet.
(7) Lost In Space
Students will give simple directions to find objects on a grid.
There is a math center and a follow-up worksheet.
**ASSESSMENT #1**

Students will identify the coordinates of objects on a grid.
There is a math center and a follow-up worksheet.
(9) Luke Skywalker, We Have Your Coordinates
Students will place objects on the grid based on their given coordinates.
There is a math center and a follow-up worksheet.
(10) Giving Directions on a Grid
Students will give directions to get from one object to another on a grid.
There is a math center and a follow-up worksheet.
(11) Slides, Flip, and Turns In Space
Students will use 3 different shapes to demonstrate slides, flips, and turns.
(12) Slides, Flips, and Turns With R2D2
Students will look at the pictures and decide if they show a slide, a flip, or a turn.
There is a math center and a follow-up worksheet.
(13) Translations, Rotations, Reflections
Students will use 2-sided shapes to determine if the picture shows a translation, a rotation, or a reflection. There is a math center and a follow-up worksheet.
(14) Slides, Flips, and Turns The 2-Sided Way
Students will use 2-sided shapes to determine if the picture shows a translation, a rotation, or a reflection. There is a math center and a follow-up worksheet.
