These six crossword puzzles are based on vocabulary from TUCK EVERLASTING. Sections of the book covered: Prologue-Ch. 3; Ch. 4-Ch. 7; Ch. 8-Ch. 11; Ch. 12-Ch. 15; Ch. 16-Ch. 20; Ch. 21-Epilogue.
Every answer is a synonym for a challenging word, such as TANGENT, HELTER-SKELTER, and FIDGETED. The original sentence in which the word appears has been provided in the clue list. Here’s an example of a typical clue:
He GESTURED with his long, white fingers and smiled, his face crinkling pleasantly.
Students must come up with a synonym for GESTURED, which appears in capital letters. Answer: MOTIONED.
