This 28-page document includes a Student Study Guide and some teacher notes for class discussion and lectures. The Student Study Guide includes the poem by Auden referenced in the book; a journal writing and art project; thematic true or false worksheet; space for student notes from lectures broken up by topic; writer's style and theme notes page; a worksheet on how to extract significant quotations, as well as how to organize quotations to be used in essay writing; a comparative poem by Shakespeare with worksheet to organize comparison notes; notes on grief; as well as other worksheets. The rest of the product includes notes from me about how to organize the unit as well as activity ideas for class team building. In addition, there are the promised teacher notes for some of the lectures. Please understand that this product doesn't explain to the teacher how to teach the Auden poem, the comparative poem, journal writing, using quotes in essay writing, writer's style, etc. The product will provide a list of the discussion topics for lectures specific to reading the book with my notes to accompany. The benefit is in my time spent organizing the novel by its thematic topics and combing the book for notes and examples with page numbers. As teaching is an art, the teacher who buys this will need to add his/her own knowledge and style to the lectures. My notes will help give the teacher some ideas, but will not tell him/her how to complete the unit. Overall, the study guide and unit ideas are fun, uplifting, despite Morrie's death at the end, and will have your students thinking on a challenging level. Thanks for your interest.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

As a New York State teacher of 7 years, I have come to truly understand the requirements of modern-day education. Currently a high school teacher of grades 9,11, 12, I do have experience in grades 6, 7, and 8. A 1 students to 1 computer initiative in my classroom, and the use of the latest modern technology, sets the bar in my school for 21st century learning. My age and recent tenure award have allowed me to have the fresh knowledge of successful educational practices, and creativity that will intrigue today's student.
