In this Smartboard activity, students review how to turn improper fractions into mixed numbers. I use this as a review center during math time, although it could also be used as a whole group review. It goes through the steps as well as the vocabulary. Students review the steps, and then they solve a few problems on their own. All problems have a hidden answer.

I have been teaching for 6 years, which doesn't sound like a lot but it sure feels like more than that! In the past, I taught a 4th grade class then looped up to 5th grade with them. I teach the special education cluster, and I love working with them. This year, I'm teaching 2nd as a new and interesting challenge.
