This is a mixer activity that uses food vocabulary, including 16 sets of twins. Each student gets a sheet with 5 pictures. Students mingle, speaking in the target language, trying to find their twin (the only other student with all 5 of the same pictures, but in a different order). This activity may be used on many different levels: : identify the food; describe the food (delicious, my favorite, etc); "I like†the food; "I am buying†the food; which meal the food is eaten at; the quantity of the food that I would like; change tenses; change verbs. Once twins find each other, they should find something that they really have in common (favorite food, etc) that is related to both the grammar and the vocabulary of the activity. This activity has pictures only so may be used for any language; the only text is in English - "twin" and "in common".
I have taught French at the high school level for 18 years. I have also taught enrichment classes to younger students and continuing education to adults.
