Wilson Rawls' "Where the Red Fern Grows" is a classic novel read in the middle grades across the English speaking world. The novel features a young boy, growing up in the Ozark Mountains, who falls in life with the two coons that he has paid for with his own money: Old Dan and Little Ann.
