Fiction & Non-Fiction Twitter Tweet Common Core Activity: Use the Twitter Concept to Make Connections to the Text

Using Twitter to Make Connections: Do you want to see if your students grasped the main idea or big event in a chapter or story but don't want to assign a boring chapter review? Use this "Twitter Tweet" activity--it's fun, fast, and you'll be able to tell right away if they read it/got it!

Use in social studies for historical figures, science for chapter summary, and so many other content areas!

Great for exit slips or bell ringers. Aligned with the Common Core State Standards for ELA, grades 6-12.

Use of the phrase "Twitter Tweet" and the Twitter logo bird is approved by Twitter (www.twitter.com) for the educational purposes of this lesson, but is not endorsed by or affiliated with Twitter or any of its affiliates. You can follow me on Twitter @MrsOrman and @HGLessons

Hi Tracee,

I'm not sure if you remember me from the forums, but I am the book review editor for the Tchr2Tchr blog. I wanted to invite you to be a guest reviewer and write a book review for us. I don't remember having you do a review for us in the past, even though you're one of the most popular sellers as far as book-related products go! You could review any book of your choice (Hunger Games or something else) and link your related products at the bottom of the review. Book reviews can be short; the minimum is 200 words, so a paragraph or two. We would also link your store and your blog to the review.

If you're interested you can find all of the details here:

Thanks for considering collaborating with us!

Thanks, Anna! Yes, I think I intended to do one some point, then school got in the way. lol I will do one; if not for The Hunger Games, I'd love to do The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. I'll work on that this weekend! Thanks, Anna.
