Activity, Lesson Plan: US Constitution Project and Worksheets
ELA History Social Studies Standards: 1,2, and 4
Your students will become detectives and research the U.S. Constitution in a fun and meaningful way. This is a comprehensive 11-page document that includes questions about the Constitution. The questions are all referenced by the Article and Section within the Constitution. This project will make learning about this important document more understandable for your students. It is written in user friendly terms, not 1780s language. It also includes an ANSWER KEY! Students will need some books and resources for this.

In the directions it says something about a poster assignment - but I didn't see a poster assignment. Did I miss that?
Kids enjoyed the packet - had teams assign team members to do different portions and share - not quite so intimidating that way in a short time frame which we are in right now.
Anyway, excellent program.

This was such a great group activity for my students! They had a blast being the detectives and looking through the constitution. I liked how the writing sheet was broken up into the articles and sections, it made it so easy for my students to find the answers that they needed! Thank you!

Does your packet include a copy of the Constitution in kid-friendly language? I am not sure that my fifth graders will be able to read and understand the language in the actual Constitution well enough to take advantage of these activities.
