This puzzle is one of a set of 11 crossword puzzles dealing with United States History. The entire set includes Famous Explorers, the Colonial Period, the American Revolution, the Westward Movement, the Civil War, Industrialism, Inventors and Notables, US Government, US Presidents, World War I, and World War II.
These puzzles are appropriate for students in middle school if the word list is used and there are appropriate modifications such as pairs of students working together and/or free words given in the beginning. High school and college students of US History should find these easy and quite helpful for review.
As a middle school librarian I used puzzles such as this to reinforce research skills by having students work in pairs or groups of three to find the puzzle answers in various reference books.
Each puzzle can be purchased separately for $2.00 each. Permission is given for copies to be made for all the current students of the teacher purchasing the puzzle.
