This is a lesson file I put together to help my students see the relationship between fractions, money, and decimals to the tenth's and hundredth's places.
There are 11 slides (Adobe file) which can be used in a variety of ways. You can project them on the board in the same manner you would a power point (this is what I do) to use as a math mini lesson, you can print them and make a booklet, you can laminate them and make a bulletin board display by using them as posters, and more. Be Creative!
The slides show examples of fractions, examples of money as fractions and money as decimals. Please see the preview file by clicking above.
The graphics are fun and the slides are presented in a way to hopefully make it easy for students in grades 3-5 to understand decimals in relation to whole numbers.
