This standards based lesson includes a simulation that puts students into the roles of labor union and management negotiators to settle a contract for a fictitious company. In a very short amount of time students learn the intricacies of management and labor history and practical applications to the modern world.

The students loved this activity. Although there is outside preparation for students needed both before and after this activity, the students absolutely loved it and even asked for a second round, representing the opposite side (didn't happen). However, I had to modify the instructions but overall used everything included. Great job!!

Excellent hands-on tool so students really "get" the importance of unions, and the conflicts they were/are engaged in.

A good negotiation simulation but does not really give much knowledge of the history of the labor movement. A worthwhile addition to a much more in-depth unit on the labor movement. A good freebie.
