This is an excellent handout for students reading any literature on their own. It also allows them to choose from a long list of Reflection questions to answer after they are reading. It will work with any piece of literature a student is reading.

Much better way for students to log their reading. This will help my 5th graders work on comprehension skills, and frankly, it demonstrates that they actually did read what they said they did. Really interesting and clever. Thanks!

I teach remedial reading and I am always looking for new ways for students to demonstrate comprehension of their self-selected books. I really like these questions because I can let the students choose a few to respond to in a response journal--and there's something for everyone!

I like this book log. In order to make one log last a full week we added the days of the week on the side. My son writes how many pages he reads, and completes one of the five questions each night.

Before becoming a teacher, I was a substitute teacher as I attended my undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Geneseo. I have been a high school English teacher in New York State for 10 years. My undergraduate work consisted of Secondary Education with Concentration in English and History from SUNY Geneseo. My master's degree concentrated on integrating technology into the curriculum from the University of Phoenix Online. Many of my lessons integrate the use of technology in some way. I have been a teacher author for Teachers Pay Teachers since March of 2007.
