Using Children's Literature

Children around the world enjoy whimsical tales. This book presents ten popular children's stories, which are used to teach critical and creative thinking skills. Each unit begins with a summary of the story and questions from Bloom's Taxonomy. Following these questions are independent project ideas developed to encourage creative thinking and writing. The following is a list of books used: There's a Nightmare in My Closet, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Just Me and My Dad, Mousekin's Golden House, A Giraffe and a Half, The Sweet Touch, Owl Moon, Hey, Al, Patrick's Dinosaurs, and the Gigantic Balloon.
