Using Halloween Pictures to Review Literacy and ELA Skills: Common Core Aligned

Use these fun handouts the entire month of October to review key language and literacy skills that are aligned to the Common Core.
These can be used during centers, morning work, homework, partner work, small group work, etc. The possibilities are endless.
These can be printed in grayscale to save ink or print a few copies in color and place them in page protectors and let the students use vis a vis markers or dry erase markers.
These handouts cover the following skills:
Parts of speech
Personification
Metaphors and Similes
Prepositions
Conjunctions
Use the Common Core Alignment page that is included to document in your lessons plans that you are having fun and teaching the Common Core!

Love the lesson, I adapted it to have 6th graders write the adjectives and adverbs as I read a Halloween short story selection to them, and then discussed the importance of the word choice... they really enjoyed it,
