Hi,
I want to use this activity tomorrow. Do I need to make a class set of one of the levels or are the sight words levels mixed on all of the cards?

The words are from the Dolch sight word lists 1-9 and each board has words from one of those lists. So they aren't mixed up. If you want to have your class use the games at the same time, you'll have to make a few copies and then group students as to their level and choose which board to use. Have a Happy Valentine's Day.

Hi! Thanks for the free download of Valentine Hearts (Dolch Sight Words). I have some thoughts but wondered what your thoughts were for using the mats.
Thanks!
Priscilla

The game boards are just typical game boards. You'll need a die and game markers and the students take turns rolling the die and moving that amount of spaces. They are to read the word where the marker lands. The first player to the end wins the game. Hope this helps. Julie

That was my very first activity and I've learned a lot since posting it (e.g include directions :) ). It's just a typical board game so you need die and game markers. The student rolls the die and moves their game marker that many spaces and reads the word. The next player takes a turn and the game continues. The first player to the end wins.

They are just basic game boards. You'll need a die and game markers. Have the first player roll the dice and move that many spaces. He/She will then read the word the maker landed upon. The next player then takes a turn and the first player to the end wins. Thanks for downloading the activity. Julie

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Subject Area:

I am a RtI Coordinator working closely with K-3rd grade teachers providing hands-on support and professional development in the area of reading. My focus is using assessment data to guide classroom instruction as well as intervention for at-risk learners. Make, Take & Teach is my way of providing teachers with the materials they need for their small group intervention. Most activities can also be used in literacy centers. Teacher intervention kits contain 15 activities (already printed for you in color and on 90lb cardstock) which align to one of the Big Five Ideas and commonly adminstered assessments (e.g. DIBELS Next). Visit www.maketaketeach.com as I have parent resources too!
