This is an excellent work mat to use when children are discovering all the different ways to represent a whole number. One of the critical areas, all kindergarten teachers should be spending most of their instructional time on, according to the Common Core Standards. The mat can be printed in black and white for students to record their answers on. I have laminated enough for a whole class and use at calendar time with the # of the day. They are great to use with Kagan strategies. I have used the mat in a math station. Children can roll a die or pick a # card and then write the different ways to represent that number!
