This time line center will work perfectly on Valentine's Day or ANY day! It doesn't say Valentine's Day on it, but because it is candy related, it would be a fun activity.
This candy time line is great for a math center too. It works perfectly as a file folder activty. I have included a cover sheet to staple to the front of the folder. Laminate the candy time line cards and place in a baggie in the folder. Staple the directions to one side of the inside cover, and place copies of the skill sheet inside the folder. Perfect for math center fun!!
There are 19 candy cards. Each has a popular candy and the date it was introduced. Students will take the cards and place them in the correct order based on the date (skill: greater than, less than, ordering numbers). They will then use the time line skill sheet and fill in the correct candies based on the dates they were created. They will use candy between 1900-1970 for the skill sheet.
There is an optional part where they can sample some candy when are finished. Just place some of the candy from the timeline into a baggie, such as Hershey Kisses, Dum Dum suckers, etc.
There is also a sheet included where the students can design their own candy bar telling the ingredients, name, design of candy bar, and the wrapper.
Your students are sure to have fun creating their candy time line, whether it's for Valentine's Day or any day.
