I just use the cheap timers that I get at Walmart kitchen department. I put duct tape over the buttons I don't want them to use.

You can save the packet to your computer, you just can not save the edits you made to the computer (unless you have upgraded software to do so). So, I suggest just printing the pages after you make the edits. Then the next time you go into the program you can add different words.
