This file contains 150 illustrated verbs in 2 word wall formats, one with 6 words on a letter-sized sheet of paper and another larger version with 3 words per sheet . The verbs range from basic ones, such as run, walk and see, for ESL leaners, to verbs such as discuss, slither and release to encourage vocabulary development in K-2 students.
This word wall provides alternatives to common verbs and help your students make better word choices in their writing and oral presentations. Some verbs such as run and dash are illustrated with the same picture to convey the idea that the same action can be described with different words and this makes the writing less repetitive and more interesting.

It's true the initial printing does take a fair amount of ink, but hopefully you are able to laminate it and can keep it for years. I'm still using the original cards I made 6 years later.

I have been teaching for 20 years in a variety of school systems. 20 years ago I spent 4 years teaching ESL overseas and upon my return home to Canada I then spent 4 years teaching French Immersion in K, 1, 4, 5. This was followed by teaching Grade 1 for 5 years at an international school Japan with a large and varied ESL population mixed in with native speakers of English. I am now back in Canada teaching Grade 1 French Immersion again.
