Students can practice the comprehension strategy of Visualizing with this activity. Using a teacher-selected poem, students can paint a picture in their heads and illustrate their interpretation with a picture. Students will record the poem title, as well as a sentence that came to their mind as they were visualizing! This is a great Literacy Center activity!

I read a poem and had students visualize it...... then draw it. I then showed them the author's illustration. It was fun to see all the different interpretations of the poem. Great intro into visualization!
