I developed this Vocabulary Question Template sheet to give to my students for homework practice. It works really well with the Journeys (TM) vocabulary questions that appear in the Teacher's Manual, but not in the students' books!
I think Journeys (TM) does a FANTASTIC job with vocabulary development for my students. There are tons of great activities I do in class. But I wanted students to have some practice with the words at home. Otherwise, some parents were completely unaware that the children learned vocabulary (they assumed their spelling words were it).
I was never a big fan of "write sentences for your vocabulary words" as an assignment because I'd get back papers that said, "I know how to spell absolutely," or "I know what segregated means," or "Look at that agenda." So to help my students practice, I created this template worksheet so they could practice thinking about applying their vocabulary words to their own lives, as well as practice using them in the context of their writing. Each week I simply photocopy that page in the Teacher's Manual, trim it to fit inside the box, and make my copies. You can even save paper by making double sided pages with lines on the back for students to write their sentences.
This product is designed for use with the Journeys program. This free product DOES NOT INCLUDE lists of vocabulary words, or vocabulary questions. Journeys provides these questions in the Teacher's Manual.
